And when you visit such a place it can make a huge difference to your enjoyment if you are kitted out properly. Having a good warm jacket, gloves, hat, and snow boots will come as second nature, but not too many will think about snow shoes. They are not overly expensive and are an excellent addition to your luggage.

Well, if you're only going to be staying home or visiting the park during the holiday season, then you will not really need to give snow shoes a thought. However, if you intend going further afield to visit the real snow areas, then buying snow shoes before you go is well worth the money spent.

Good snow shoes will spread your weight over a much greater area so and wearing them will stop you from continuously sinking knee deep into drifts and having to struggle to get back out. Snow boots or hiking boots are best of all and snow boarding boots can also fit the bill. Be careful if you are wearing ankle length boots though because snow can still get in over the top of them. You can get gaiters that strap round your lower leg and they will improve things greatly. It is essential to keep your feet warm and dry in snowy conditions or life will become unbearable for you. Quite apart from the danger it poses.
